Life After Death...

To us,

Our life is short, we know nothing at all; we pass like shadows across the earth. [Job 8: 9]

Ever wondered what is like to be dead? Have we ever stopped to ponder where our soul shall be after death? If no let’s take some time to ponder about it now. If yes, are we prepared for that life which comes after death? We don’t really know when death will occur but the certainty is there, Right?
Often people die every second, we get to hear news about a family or friend’s death. Do we sometimes wonder where their soul is? Have we ever thought of been in that position and think of where we would be if we were that dead person?

Everyone must die once, and after that be judged by God. [Hebrews 9:27]
Every one of us, then, will have to give an account of ourselves to God. [Romans 14:12]

Well, after death is judgment according to the above scripture, are we prepared for that judgment? (Let’s answer it truthfully in our hearts)
Can we tell when we shall die so as to prepare well for the judgment? We know for certain we can’t predict our death or when rapture will take place. Isn’t it? So, what do we do?

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. On that day the heavens will disappear with a shrill noise, the heavenly bodies will burn up and be destroyed, and the earth with everything in it will vanish. Since all this things will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should you be? Your lives should be holy and dedicated to God, as you wait for the Day of God and do your best to make it come soon  the day when the heavens will burn up and be destroyed, and the heavenly bodies will be melted by heat. [2 Peter 3:10-12]

God has given us the privilege to choose where to spend our eternity; it is not enough for us to say we want to make Heaven without backing it up with our actions. It doesn’t matter how dark our heart is as a result of our sins. Let’s ask ourselves, does a healthy man need a doctor? Jesus Christ came to die for our sins, HE doesn’t hate the sinner, No, HE doesn’t! What he hates is the sin and sin is the major thing if not only thing that creates a barrier between God and us.
Dear, as long as we are still on earth we have the opportunity to make things right with our creator. Let’s not wait; truthfully, we can do it now, no matter where we are, be it at the market, in a bus, in the hospital, in our room. Yes we can because the next minute might be too late. Remember God is everywhere!!!
All we need do is confess our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal saviour; HE alone is the truth and the life.

Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth and the life; No man goes to the Father except by me. [John 14:6]

It doesn’t matter how many times we have fallen, what matter is, do we remain on the floor or do we stand up immediately and continue the race? As human, just as our faces are different so also our heart desires and burdens but we all have hope because while Jesus was on earth he said:

Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” [Mathew 12:16]

So I ask us, what is that thing or sin keeping us far away from our creator? Will it still matter when we die and to be judged? E.g. my husband left me for another woman leaving my children and I suffering so I will never forgive him. Yes! We know he hurt you but will it still matter when you face judgment after death? Will your unforgiveness speak for or against you?
To be wealthy we engage in ritual, arm robbery and prostitution, converting public funds for our personal use, etc. do we think we won’t give account of it on the last day because is a public fund? Will that wealth matter after we are dead? The wealth we misuse will not speak for us, our certificate will not speak for us, and our beauty will not speak for us only our deeds; good or bad will. We should all bear in mind that Heaven is a personal race, our Pastors, Reverend, G.O won’t be there to speak for us and our utmost priority in life should be making Heaven after death.
Lastly, we should all keep in mind that there is no second chance once we are dead, no repentance in the grave!!! God loves us so dearly that was why he sent his only begotten son to die for our sins that we will be saved. Should we let HIS death be in vain??? (Let’s answer with our actions).
It is not enough we live a holy life, how often do we pray for others i.e. families, friends etc? How often do we tell others about Jesus Christ? If we really care for a friend or family and we are yet to tell them about Christ then we are not a true friend, even as Christians let’s keep reminding each other about life after death till we win the race. There are many mansions and it won’t be a good thing if most of the mansions are empty.

“Do not be worried and upset,” Jesus told them. “Believe in God and believe in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house, and I am going to prepare a place for you.  I would not tell you this if it were not so. And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am. [John 14: 1-3]

So, let us try as much as possible and I pray that the Lord will bless and enable us so that when you bring the person next to you and I bring the one next to me, together we all shall fill the mansions at heaven in Jesus name. AMEN!!!
